LINDY ABAWI - KEYNOTE

Let their lights shine!

Currently teachers are dealing with an ever widening range of student diversity. Rather than seeing this as a ‘problem’ inclusive schools and classrooms embrace diversity. In these classrooms, quality teachers use differentiation as a natural way of meeting the diverse needs of students, from those with learning needs requiring additional support through to our future entrepreneurs and inventors. Quality teachers ignite the spark for creating a just and equitable world by nurturing students who struggle, as well as those who shine with creativity and potential; who embrace students from diverse cultures with their rich complexities of experience; and, who work in partnership with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to create positive future pathways for their children.

In Dr Abawi’s Keynote, entitled “Let their lights shine!”, she will share inspirational stories straight from the classroom, as well as foundation principles, processes and strategies that her research has shown underpin inclusive, differentiated school and classroom practices.
